法国国防部15日晚发布公报称，法国战机当天向位于叙利亚拉卡市的IS目标投掷了20枚炸弹，摧毁全部预定目标。第一个空袭目标被IS用作指挥所，同时招募人员及存放枪支弹药；第二个空袭目标是恐怖分子训练营。

法军此次空袭共动用12架飞机，其中包括10架歼击战斗机。公报中还指出，这些飞机是从阿联酋和约旦起飞，此次行动与美军进行了协调，，是法军自今年9月扩大在叙境内军事行动以来展开的最大规模空袭。

French jet fighters on Tuesday carried out air strikes on Islamic State (IS) positions in Iraq's northern province of Kirkuk, a Kurdish security source said.

"French warplanes affiliated to U.S. led coalition carried out the attacks around noon on IS positions in the IS-held town of Hawijah and the areas of Rashad and Riyadh in southwest of the city of Kirkuk," The source confirmed that the air strikes, which were based on intelligence reports, killed and wounded dozens of IS militants, the source said without giving further details.

事发原因是因为本月17日，俄罗斯官方确认上月31日的俄航客机失事为一起炸弹恐怖袭击事件导致224人全体阵亡。恐怖组织IS宣称对此事件负责。
